'My Journey to Uganda' by Marissa, parishioner of St Kevin's

To Fr. Martin, St. Kevin's Parishioners, Family, Friends

The clothes, monies, and laptops which you very kindly donated and entrusted me with arrived safely in Uganda and given to Fr. Fabius.

As he opened the suitcases revealing the contents all he could say was WOW....WOW...........he was lost for words, and visibly moved. He couldn't believe the tremendous generosity of people.

Fr Fabius with Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala

He thanks you all profoundly for your tremendous support and goodwill.

A special thank you to the lady who made 50 pairs of children's underwear in the Australian green and gold colours; the kids loved them!

Also to the lady who made six children's skirts in such good quality material and lovely colours; such skill and dedication is rare today.

When Fr. saw the laptops his look said it all:  the key to the future...

Parish Outing to Canberra

On Wednesday 23rd September a group of 55 St Kevin's parishioners and friends, joined Fr Martin on a long day outing to Canberra. Travelling on a luxurious Murray's bus, the group braved the cold Canberra winds and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of Floriade, and the amazing displays at the Australian War Memorial.

Parish Mission Prayer

Father, you created us in your image to share in your love, your life, your joy and eternal perfection. When we rejected your promises and lost our way to you, you did not abandon us but sent your son Jesus to reconcile us to yourself. His life, Death and Resurrection is our hope; bringing mercy and healing to where we are overwhelmed, lost, hurt, and empty.

Send your Holy Spirit to us in abundance during our parish mission. Help us to take time, to come closer, to go deeper into the heart of Christ and find his everlasting 'Yes' for us. Bless those who you want to bring to this mission. Prepare their hearts and give us the courage to invite them. Help us to share your love and mercy with our neighbours, our family, our friends, the outsider and the stranger. St. Kevin, pray for us.

Join the St Kevin's Eastwood Youth Network!

Our young parishioners have told us they'd like place to come together with their peers. That's why we're now creating a St Kevin's Youth Network and are calling for teen parishioners to get involved.

Come to our inaugural SKYNetwork Social

On 14 December, we'll be hosting our inaugural SKYNetwork meet and greet. Youth aged from 14 years are welcome to join us after mass which starts at 6pm. Parents are also welcome to come and meet Fr Martin and the small group of parish volunteers that are helping to lead SKYNetwork. Refreshments will be provided.

Step up and be part of the St Kevin's Youth Network Leadership Team

If you want to develop your leadership skills, are creative and keen to make a difference in your community,  then consider joining our first ever St Kevin's Youth Network Leadership Team (SKY Network LT).  The SKYNetwork LT will be responsible for:

  • Developing ideas to engage with our parish community
  • Looking for ways to support those less fortunate such as Brekky Van
  • Organising events
  • Creating a Facebook page and assisting with ongoing management
  • Devising an overall community engagement plan and implementing it.

The SKYNetwork will be supported by Fr Martin and a small team of adult parishioners.  If you're interested in joining the SKY Network LT, please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
